Services
Medical services offered at the Fredericksburg Clinic include the Board Certified primary care specialties of Family Practice and Internal Medicine. Clinic physicians provide comprehensive care, including preventive care, acute care for illnesses and hospitalization, chronic care, and counseling in good health and wellness. In addition to the clinic physicians, there are consulting physicians who have regular weekly hours at the clinic. In an effort to provide comprehensive care to our patients, the clinic offers the following diagnostic services.
Laboratory Studies
The Clinic has a stand alone Laboratory that is state of the art in all critical value studies. We are a moderately complex CLIA certified and COLA inspected laboratory meeting national standards. The laboratory assists the physicians in evaluation and treatment of our patients. Staffed with certified Medical Laboratory Technicians and phlebotomists, the laboratory is well equipped for your needs. Our Laboratory opens at 8:00 am Monday through Friday on a first come first serve basis. We ask that you come fasting to your lab appointment, which means having nothing to eat or drink after midnight (except water) the night prior to your scheduled lab appointment. To serve you more efficiently, please make a lab appointment with the front receptionist.
X-Ray services
Basic diagnostic X-ray procedures are performed in-house to enable our physicians to evaluate and treat patients more expediently. X-ray exams are performed daily, usually as soon as ordered by our physicians. The X-ray equipment is state certified, inspected, and calibrated on a regular basis. Exams are performed by state certified and ARRT registered technologists.
Bone Density Testing
This is a special low dose x-ray scan that screens for osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a silent disease that affects more than 25 million Americans. Osteoporosis causes 1.5 million fractures every year. We have specially trained staff that perform DEXA or Bone Density Scanning. Appointments are available Monday through Thursday. The test is painless and non-invasive. It takes 30 minutes to perform. After diagnosis, there are a variety of treatments your doctor can prescribe to treat the disease. DEXA scans are then performed at yearly or bi-yearly intervals to monitor the disease.
EKG Monitoring
EKG ( electrocardiogram) standard & 24hr monitoring.
Blood Pressure/Shot Clinic
No appointment needed. Please call the clinic for an appointment to serve you more efficiently, or you may walk in during our regular business hours. If you need an allergy injection, please do not come after 4:00 pm Monday-Thursday and after 11:00 am Friday.
Anti-coagulation Clinic
The clinic provides a special service for its patients that take the blood thinner, Coumadin. These patients are monitored by a specially trained nurse, who performs a blood test every month. The test takes less than 5 minutes. The nurse is then able to interpret the results and make changes in the Coumadin dose if needed. This provides patients with quality care and minimizes the risks of blood thinning therapy.
